Storytime Dance

Is designed for imaginative 2-8

year olds where their world of magic is joined with a trained dancer’s knowledge of the fundamentals of dance. In this way skill development, focus and practice result in the child’s confidence and achievement all within the context of a child’s magical world of stories. Classes encourage students to champion their inherent talents, try on all the characters they like to be and in the process create a performance of which they can be proud.

Storytelling through Dance and Yoga

Raise your wands, Flutter your wings, Gallop your steed all while practicing good dance posture. Let Magical stories transport you in this whimsical dance class. Every month a new story or theme transports the dancers to a different treasured land of dreams where they can learn proper dance techniques and vocabulary (ballet, modern, jazz), classroom structure and etiquette and the fundamental dance concepts of space, time, force and body awareness, all while delighting in each new imaginative world!

Included in every class is a yoga story that teaches poses, balance and breathing

Class Format at Preschools

Class is held once a week for 45 minutes. If a pre-school has enough interest to accommodate two separate classes a separate toddler class is offered for 2 year olds that is 40 minutes in length (max. students 9). Otherwise a combined ages class is offered that is 45 minutes in length (max. students 12).
This year’s stories will include:
Beauty and the Beast, The Nutcracker, Alice in Wonderland, Cowboys and The Little Mermaid

Storytime Dance Offered at AHB

Class for 5-8 year olds

Storytime Dance is proud to announce it's after-school program at AHB Community School! This class will be held Wednesday afternoons from 2:30-3:30. Tuition is $300.00 per semester. The class will be developmentally appropriate for 5-9 year olds.

We are currently registering for the Fall. Forms can be found in Miss Mary's office or you can register below. Miss Eve is so excited about this opportunity!

A Recital will be held in May!

About Ms. Eve

Ms. Eve has been teaching children’s dance for 17 years. Dance has always been her first love...ever since she first heard the song “Cecilia” on her father’s stereo and she ran to put on her bell bottom pants so she could shake her body all over the living room floor to those fantastic rhythms.
A graduate of U.T. Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in dance, Eve has taught dance classes in private studios, for a non-profit dance program for at-risk youth and in pre-schools in Austin and the surrounding area. The joy of dancing mixed with the honor of entering the magical world of your children inspires and keeps joy alive in her heart. She is so thankful for the opportunities this work gives!

Preschool
Class Details

SESSION:

The nine month session runs September through May. Holidays and School closings are not made up. There is an average of 4-class sessions/month over the 9 month period. Some pre-schools have summer classes as well.

Performance: The annual spring performance is held in May the dancers perform for 20 to 30 minutes!!!

Tuition: $10.00 registration fee. Tuition is $50.00 month.

Tuition is due on or before the 5th of each month.

Your child is considered enrolled for the nine month session unless parents notify Ms. Eve one month prior to discontinuing the program.

There are no refunds or prorating for classes missed.

Dress Code: Dance attire is highly suggested but not required...
